DEEP WATER (A ROMANTIC COMEDY):

Alex Philpot is stuck in a relationship he’s really not sure about any more. His girlfriend, Briony, seems to be getting cold feet. He can’t seem to satisfy her requirements – she seems disappointed by his lack of ambition and unexciting personality. She’s drifting away from him, and he feels powerless to do anything about it. When he discovers she’s seeing a raffish and charismatic sailor, he decides the game is up. How can he compete with the likes of a romantic drifter? He immerses himself in his work and his hobby (writing a crime fiction novel – something that Briony finds stultifyingly boring). Things start to look a bit fishy, when Briony and her new admirer suddenly disappear off the face of the earth. Meanwhile, Alex inadvertently becomes the police’s number one suspect when they find his bloodthirsty and graphically detailed manuscript in his flat. Drawn into a farcical sequence of unfortunate events, Alex wonders if his life will ever be normal again.
